Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre Upgrade

West Shore Parks and Recreation Society (Colwood, BC) expanded and upgraded the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre thanks to the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program, a major job-creating investment from Canada’s Economic Action Plan and a BC Accessibility Grant.

The exciting improvements to the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre ensures the community has access to the modern and essential infrastructure they need today and in the future. The facility’s popular fitness and weight training centre was expanded from 2700 square feet/250 square metres to over 7450 square feet/690 square metres and features areas for stretching, weight training and physiotherapy. The expansion also provides a new studio for aerobics, yoga, pilates and dance, as well as provision for further upper floor expansion in the future.

Accessibility improvements include new sidewalks, ramps, and improved main entrance providing easy access by all to this popular community facility.
