Cowichan Aquatic Centre

Opened in August 2008 in time to host the 2008 Indigenous Games, the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, part of the Island Savings Centre (Duncan, BC), is a truly modern facility that reflects the dynamic population of the area. This facility is drawing users from well beyond it’s regional boundaries.

The 25m 8 lane lap pool, with 1m and 3m diving, offers fitness and competition swimming while the large wave/leisure pool offers fun, relaxation and aqua-therapy opportunities. A swirl pool, sauna, steam room and double indoor/outdoor waterslides offer fund and fitness for all ages. Theming throughout the pool hall reflects the rich heritage and culture of the Cowichan Valley. With an extensive fitness and wellness centre, multipurpose spaces for yoga, meetings, parties and other events, as well as child minding and retail space, this facility provides something for everyone. The 25m pool was designed to accommodate expansion to a 50m tank in the future.

VDA was Prime Consultant for this project.
