Katzie Health and Community Centre

Working toward building a Stronger Healthier Community; the existing Health Centre for the Katzie First Nation was not meeting the needs of the Katzie First Nation. The Katzie Band applied for and received funds for a feasibility study on the replacement of the Health Centre and subsequently the Band was approved funds to develop the project through the design phase up to and including the tender process.

In addition to the development of the Health Centre, there were construction, project, site works and other savings the Katzie chose to take advantage of by combining the Health Centre with a Band Community Centre. This portion of the facility is fully funded by the Katzie band including development and construction costs. The Katzie funded portion includes a full sized gymnasium with a commercial kitchen, space allocated to the Head Start program, offices for Band administration and support spaces for the above.
VDA was Prime Consultant for this project.
